Black Community Suicide Prevention

Black Community Suicide Prevention

Suicide is an overlooked topic of conversation within the Black and African American community until our loved ones are affected. And, then, the impact is felt, but then it’s too late. It’s the third leading cause of death for Black and African American youth, and It’s time for the community to come together on this.

onePULSE Foundation is partnering with the Orange County Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Initiative and Pineapple Healthcare to present “Invisible Pain: Honest Conversations on Mental Health and Suicide in our Black and African American Community.” There will be spoken word artists, a community reflection activity, a panel discussion with impacted individuals, and resources to help prevent suicide from affecting your loved ones. Food and Beverages will be provided.
